Monitoring and Evaluation Manager

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the monitoring and evaluation framework for the different  projects. The M&E Manager will work closely with the project team to ensure that all project activities are properly tracked, data is collected and analyzed, and progress is reported to key stakeholders.

Job Type : Full Time, 12 Months contract

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, and systems.
  • Establish performance indicators, baselines, targets, and data collection methodologies.
  • Ensure alignment of M&E activities with project goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the collection of quantitative and qualitative data from various sources.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources, including field visits, surveys, and reports, to assess the project\’s performance and progress.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and timely reporting.
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized databases for project information.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and collect data.
  • Track progress against performance indicators and targets.
  • Identify challenges and bottlenecks in project implementation and suggest corrective actions.
  • Conduct Baseline, mid-term and end-term evaluations to assess project outcomes and impacts.
  • Prepare detailed reports, including data analysis, findings, and recommendations.
  • Present evaluation results to stakeholders, including project teams, management, donors, and partners.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to project staff on M&E methodologies and tools.
  • Build the capacity of local partners and stakeholders in data collection and analysis.
  • Facilitate the use of M&E findings for strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Document and share best practices and lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of M&E activities.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and other M&E-related documents to communicate project status to the project team, management, and donors.
  • Establish and maintain effective data collection systems to track project inputs, outputs, outcomes, and impacts.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by senior management.

Working Conditions:

  • The M&E Officer may be required to travel to project sites for monitoring and data collection.
  • The position may involve occasional work outside standard office hours to meet project deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Must be present at the office everyday

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in the agricultural sector
  • Experience with M&E methodologies, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in data management and analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, Excel).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Bi-lingual ability is an added advantage.
  • Resides in Kaduna
