The Pullus–Heifer Partnership stands as a profound testament to what can happen when impact is deepened and people are consistently supported with the single goal of helping them become better and self-sustaining. There is something truly powerful about two partners with shared values coming together to pursue a common purpose the result is both electrifying and enduring.

Over the years, we have refined the art of equipping and strengthening smallholder farmers to achieve both productivity and profitability. Each new phase of our work shortens the time it takes to achieve lasting change in farmers’ lives. Since its inception, the Poultry Supply Chain Derisking Program (POS-DERP) has continued to leave an indelible and transformative mark on the lives and livelihoods of rural farmers.

POS-DERP 1.0 and 2.0 catalyzed ecosystem-wide change. Across the states where these interventions took place, market players have redefined their operations. Payment structures that once stretched over several months have been replaced by systems that ensure farmers are paid within 24 hours.

Farmers have expanded their enterprises, evolving into input vendors and service providers for their communities. We have seen struggling agribusinesses revived on the back of improved farmer productivity and profitability. Confidence in insurance, once eroded, has been restored. Awareness continues to grow, and adoption is steadily increasing as farmers now see insurance as a safety net rather than a burden.

Now, POS-DERP 3.0 builds on this foundation. Launched last month, it expands into Plateau State while deepening its impact across Kaduna, Nasarawa, and the FCT. The transformation has already been remarkable, with over 5,000 beneficiaries reached and more being onboarded each week. Clusters are being strengthened, with many transitioning into structured cooperatives, ensuring sustainability and stronger bargaining power.

From inception, we have trained over 30,000 farmers, and in this new phase, another 20,000 beneficiaries will be trained and supported. The magnitude of positive change spreading across the poultry ecosystem in households, communities, and entire value chains is nothing short of groundbreaking.

At Pullus, we remain deeply grateful for the partnership and shared vision with Heifer Nigeria. Together, we are not only transforming lives but also reshaping the future of agriculture in Nigeria one farmer, one community, and one impact story at a time.
